Walking 1.6 miles in the humid, hot, summer days feels more like a few miles to walk. We walked 1.6 miles in the humid, hot, summer day to Delco Park today and it definitely felt like 3 miles. A writer and artist, Rob E. Boley and Amy Anderson, came to talk to us and do an activity with us about creating a "Metot," which is a creation of multiple different animals combined to form a knew one; Amy Anderson created this idea.

The activity was this: we find 3 adjectives that describe us, then we chose 3 animals that the adjectives described. We then created a combined animal of those 3 animals. We then did a worksheet that related to our animal and wrote a short story about it.
The activity:
1. What is your metot's preferred habitat?
- forest
2. How does its unique body make it suited to that environment?
- it can climb well with it's monkey legs in the front, and run fast/dig with its dog legs in the front.
3. What is your metot's life span
- ranges from 20-50 years
4. How big does your metot get?
- as large as an overweight chihuahua
5. How does your metot parent it's young?
- it doesn't, it leaves it to parent itself
6. What does your metot eat?
- everything
7. Does your metot have any natural predators?
- pigeons
8. How does it defend itself?
- It digs holes to hide in
9. Does your metot have symbiotic relationships with other organisms?
- no
10. Other special qualities?
- none
Writing piece for activity:
"I was walking through the amazon rain forest trying to find my way back to the parking lot near the entrance when something ran past me. I wasn't sure what it was, it was so fast - I chased after it. I finally caught it, it seemed to be a mix of a dog-koala-monkey mix. I had never seen anything like it; I decided to name the breed "smelli." It began to dig a hole to hide from me - I think that's how it protects itself."
After our activity, we were able to go explore Delco Park and go anywhere on park grounds. My friends and I went to the gazebo by the pond to get some fresh air. While we were there, I saw a goose with it's little gooslings following it close behind. We then went to the sand volleyball courts to play until it was time to leave.

I enjoyed this day today because I got to go on a walk, and even though it felt like forever, I was surrounded by my friends and we just laughed and talked the entire time.
